Obituary for Brinkley A. Williams

Brinkley A. Williams, 83, of Springfield, MO passed away on Monday,
September 4, 2017 surrounded by his loving family. Brinkley was born
on January 2, 1934 in Black Oak, Arkansas to J.K. and Eva (Fisher)
Williams.
Brinkley was married for 40 years to his loving wife Liz. To this union,
he was blessed with five children. He served in the US Army. Brinkley
worked at Springfield Tablet for 37 years. Brinkley loved working with
wood, cooking and eating good southern food (especially catfish) and
watching movies. His first love has always been his family. He loved his
brothers and sisters, his children, his grandchildren and his great
grandchildren.
Brinkley is survived by his wife, Elizabeth “Liz” (Garrison); his children,
Judy and Dana Higgins, Dwight and Jennie Williams, Brian and Linda
Williams, Candace and Bob Smith and Kimberley Williamson; his
grandchildren, Jake and Lacey Williams, Brooks Williams, Tyole
Murphy, Amber Williamson, Cody Williamson, Caitlyn and Adam
Wallberg, and Meagan Smith; his great grandchildren, Jeremiah Shope,
Brooklyn Williams, Bailey Williams, Madyson Williams, Jacob Williams,
Molly Williams, MacKenna Wallberg, Emma Wallberg, Harper Wallberg
and Cole Williamson. Brinkley is also survived by his sisters, Jeanie
Wallace, Peggy Cleghorn and Oquilla Gilley Rodgers; his sisters and
brothers in law, Peggy Williams,Gaye Williams, Norma Hughes, Carroll
Garrison, Jo Brixey, Betty Gambriel, Shirley Curbow, Barbara Holmes,
Sue Long, George “Art” Garrison, Darlene Mead and Richard “Butch”
Garrison. In addition, he is survived by a host of nieces, nephews and
countless friends.
Brinkley was one of the most kind, humble and wonderful man, friend
and father. He will be greatly missed by all whose lives have been
touched by his.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 7, 2017 from 6:00 pm to
8:00 pm at Klingner-Cope Family Funeral Home at White Chapel (5234
West State Hwy EE) Springfield MO. A graveside service will be on
Friday, September 8, 2017 at 11:00 am at White Chapel Memorial
Gardens.
