Christina Worley (Southard)
Christina Southard Worley April 9, 1927 – July 6, 2017 Christina Worley was born April 9, 1927, in Southard, Mo, to Otis and Sarah (Davis) Southard. She passed from this life on July 6, 2017, at the age of 90 years.
Christina owned and operated Christine’s Beauty Shop in the heart of Strafford for about 40 years. She was a longtime member of Strafford United Methodist Church and a member of its UMW women’s group. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She loved her quilting group, tending to her flowers and garden, and cooking for her family.
Christina and Raymond E. Worley were married for 58 years and throughout their life together they served faithfully because they loved each other, their family, their community, their church, and their Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother and six sisters. She is survived by one son, Raymond Worley, Jr. and wife Debi of Battlefield; one daughter, Jann Marler and husband Mike of Strafford; four grandchildren, Raymond Worley III and Roger Worley of Springfield, Jennifer Marler of St. Louis, and Jeff Marler of Strafford; one step grandson, Bryan Worley of Springfield; six great grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, friends, and neighbors.
Visitation for Christina will be held Tuesday, July 11, 2017 from 10 – 11a.m at the Strafford United Methodist Church, to be followed by a Celebration of Life service at 11:00. Burial will be at Dishman Cemetary
The family wishes to thank her many caregivers over the last five years. In addition to flowers, other memorials may be made to the Strafford United Methodist Church. Funeral Services are under the direction of Klingner-Cope Family Funeral Home at Rivermont.
