Obituary for Agnes Williams (Blakey)

Agnes Williams, 80, of Springfield, Missouri died on Friday, May 5, 2017. She was born in Chadwick, Missouri on December 7, 1936, a daughter to Everett and Bessie (Nash) Blakey.

Agnes grew up in a large family with her parents and 8 brothers and sisters. She was known to be a feisty lady who was a great cook, an imaginative storyteller, a painter and entertainer. Her creative mind allowed her to act like a child and a loving grandmother, and every age in between, at the same time. She was never bored and wanted those around her to join in on the fun.

Agnes was a very religious woman. She attended several Pentecostal churches in Springfield, and practiced her faith constantly. She loved listening to Elvis, shopping, collecting dolls and BINGO. Agnes was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She filled the hearts and minds of those around her. And she will be missed by many.

Agnes was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Don Williams; and six brothers and sisters, Calbert Blakey, Thoe Sietz, Lillian Coffer, Bob Blakey, Maryann Carsten and Gildie Bauer.

Agnes is survived by her first husband, John Medley; 3 children, Patricia Birdsong, Ron Medley (Becky) and James Medley; 7 great grandchildren, Michael Birdsong, Ronnie Medley, Jr., Matthew Medley, Jeffrey Medley, Jesse Medley (Taylor), Cody Medley and Abigail Medley; 2 great great grandchildren, Allison and Alice Rose.

Funeral services will be at 12:30pm, Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at Klingner-Cope Family Funeral Home at Rivermonte Chapel with a 2:00pm Committal Service at Missouri Veterans Cemetery.

Agnes’ family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00pm on Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at the Klingner–Cope Family Funeral Home at Rivermonte Chapel.
