Obituary for
Menno Frerichs
Menno George Frerichs, 81, passed away on Thursday, April 6, 2017 at the Aurora Nursing Center with family by his side. He was born on Tuesday, January 21, 1936 in Palmer, IA to Annette Eilers and Frank Frerichs.
On July 2, 1955, in Waseca, MN, Menno and Ardella Larson were united in marriage and to this union five children were born. He loved woodworking and the outdoors. Menno was an avid volunteer and enjoyed helping his neighbors, the Water Department and the Fire Department. He was also known as the “Candyman” at the nursing home.
Menno was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife, his five children, Wayne Frerichs of Brighton, CO, William Frerichs (wife Karen) of Austell, GA, Vernon Frerichs (wife Ramona) of Aurora, MO, Robert Frerichs (wife Marlyn) of Colorado Springs, CO and Cheryl Trivett (husband Edward) of Forgan, OK, one brother Arno Frerichs (wife Sara) of Bella Vista, AR, one sister Faye Petterson (husband Alden) of Akin, MN, 11 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, friends and family.
A memorial service will be held at 2pm on Monday, April 10, 2017 at the Grace Lutheran Church, 1120 S. Park Ave., Aurora, MO 65605, with the Rev. Ken Lampe officiating. Memorial donation may be made in his name to the Grace Lutheran Church or the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church; 815 E. Co Rd. 182, Springfield, MO 65810.
